'Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence'

The Christmas festival is accompanied by so much razzmatazz, both sacred and secular, that it is easy to lose sight of the fact that the Incarnation is a holy mystery of such awesome splendour that, by rights, we should be rendered speechless. Today is an opportunity to reflect on the mystery and splendour of 'Emmanuel', God with us, and, in the midst of the noise all around us, to keep a holy silence.
