Mission Statement

"To continue to be a holy place that draws and points people to God and offers them an experience of peace"

Whalley Abbey continues to be a place of prayer and mission. We provide the opportunity for guests to join in our prayer and worship, for church groups to ahve time away together and for individuals to come on private retreat or to participate in our retreat programme

Eucharist is held every Friday at 9.30 am in the Chapel followed by coffee, all welcome.

Private Retreats

With en suite study-bedrooms and peaceful gardens to walk in, the Abbey is an ideal place in which to spend time alone on retreat. We can offer a contact for those who require spiritual guidance while on personal retreat.

Church Groups

We welcome groups of all affiliations to spend an evening, day or weekend together, taking time out from your normal routine to listen to God and explore together the issues you are facing

Parish Meeting Room

Church of England Parishes within The Diocese of Blackburn are invited to use The Chapel once a year without charge. Bookings need to be made at least two months before the event.

Should you wish to supply your own refreshments we will be pleased to provide a kettle. Alternatively, if there is availability in the Conference House we will be pleased to arrange for a meal to be provided in the dining room. Information and prices are available from Reception at the Abbey.
