‘What does being Christian look like today?’

Led by Canon Peter Howell-Jones

In 1 Chronicles 12:32, the writer talks about the men of Issachar who understood the times and knew what Israel should do. As we ponder living as Christians in our modern world, the quiet day will dip into a little social history, cultural barriers and theological ideas to help us think again about what it means to be Christian in Britain today.

‘Lift Up Your Hearts!’

Led by Revd Dr Tom Woolford

An intellectually stimulating and spiritually enriching exploration of eucharistic theology, history and liturgy; culminating in a celebration of Holy Communion in the ruins of the Abbey.

As summer sets in, spend a day exploring what it means to ‘come to him’ and learn the unforced rhythms of grace.

‘Water into Wine’

Based on John 2:1-11: The symbol of empty water jars and new wine – emptying ourselves to offer a space for life lived in all its fullness.


Thursday September 24th

‘From a Garden to a City’

Led by Archdeacon Mark Ireland

An opportunity to explore God’s purpose in the creation of the world, from Genesis to Revelation. Why did God make the world, how does he want us to care for it, and what is the future hope for creation when Christ returns?


Thursday October 15th

‘Authentic Christian Ministry from 2 Corinthians’

Led by Rt Revd Bishop Julian Henderson

As the Apostle Paul refutes the claims of new leaders who have come to Corinth, so we learn what Authentic Christian Ministry is meant to look like.

Thursday November 19th

‘Cross-Shaped Calling’

Why not take time out to look to our future, draw on our past, plumb the depths of His magma chamber, and set our sights high. Some thoughts and questions based on Ephesians 1 with plenty of space and silence to tune in to Him.
