Creative Meditation with Hildegard and Clay
During the course of this creative day, we will consider the life and work of Hildegard of Bingen, a medieval mystic, abbess, composer and visionary. We will be looking at her illuminations and meditating on one of her works, followed by an opportunity to participate in a group ceramic project.
This quiet day will be led by Wendy Foot, who worked as a Chaplain in a GP practice in Blackburn before serving as a Pioneer Inclusion Worker for the Methodist Church and who now enjoys the creativity of pottery, and by Bridget Clarke, a former Carmelite, an oblate of the Order of St. Benedict and a non-resident member of the Whalley Abbey praying community.

The cost for this event is £62, including lunch, materials and clay firing.
You may wish to bring a Bible/Bible app, in addition to an apron and clothes that don’t mind a mess. In addition, it may be useful to bring note- or sketchbooks with which to record your thoughts and ideas. Long fingernails may get in the way of the clay work.
We look forward to welcoming you!
