‘O Come Emmanuel!’ Advent Study Group

Advent Study Group: O Come Emmanuel

Reflecting on the Advent Antiphons with images and music

The group takes place on Wednesdays 26/11, 3/12, 10/12 and 17/12

The Advent antiphons are prayers calling God to come as our teacher and deliverer. The antiphons address him by seven scriptural titles, each of which speaks to a different aspect of Christ’s identity.

This study group is open to all and is led by Revd Jonathan Carmyllie, vicar of St Mary and All Saints Church in Whalley, and the Director of Whalley Abbey, Revd Anna Walker. The material is based on the book 'O Come Emmanuel: Reflections on the Advent Antiphons' and contributors include David Hoyle, Esther Prior and Philip North. You do not need to buy the book to participate.

Refreshments will be served from 2:15. No booking necessary.
