Pathways to Prayer Taster Day (Year of Contemplation 2026)

This is the second Pathways to Prayer day in our Year of Contemplation 2026 with a focus on seeking God and learning more about prayer through ancient and more modern paths. Through silence, spiritual exercises and the senses. This day of workshops includes a carousel of Christian Meditation, Lectio Divina, Journaling and Praying with Icons.

The workshops will be led by Joanne Caine from the World Community for Christian Meditation and School of Meditation UK Coordinator. RevHilary Murphy, Resident Chaplain of Whalley Abbey and spiritual director; and Sister Sue OCMM who is a member of the Order of the Companions of Martha and Mary and Outi Rudd spiritual director.

Participants are encouraged to bring a journal.

Following this workshop the Year of Contemplation will continue with further Quiet Days and a Music Retreat in December.
