Quiet Day - Breath of Contemplation - Year of Contemplation 2026

Breath of Contemplation - Quiet Day

Join us for ‘Breath of Contemplation’, a day focusing on the contemplative practice of being grounded in the love of God. The exercises make use of the breath to find a place of focused prayer and an embodied experience of God’s indwelling.

‘Seeing with the eyes of the heart’ is part of our Year of Contemplation 2026, which will focus on seeking God and learning more about prayer through ancient and more modern paths of silence, spiritual exercises and the senses.

This quiet day will be led by Bridget Clarke, a former Carmelite, an oblate of the Order of St. Benedict and a non-resident member of the Whalley Abbey praying community.

Please bring a journal or a notebook. If you wish to spend prayerful time outside, please have suitable footwear to walk around the grounds.

The cost of the day will be £37, with lunch included.

Please book your ticket using the link below.
We look forward to welcoming you!
