Soul Seasons - Winter Quiet Day

Soul Seasons - Winter Quiet Day

God’s creative provision of seasons in nature teaches us healthy rhythms of rest and productivity. Our Winter Quiet Day focuses on the spiritual discipline of rest and waiting, seeking meaning in liminal times and embracing stillness.  Here we make space to hear the gentle counsel of the Spirit as we observe creation to see how it can point us to Jesus that we may imitate his embracing of wilderness experience.

With times of silence, worship, led meditation and space for personal reflection, the day will culminate with a simple Eucharist. There will also be opportunities to be creative with some craft materials and make an Anglican rosary.

The Revd Cathy Malins came to Blackburn Diocese to serve her curacy at St James’s Church, Lower Darwen.  She is also a glass artist and has exhibited and sold handmade fused glass for over 15 years.  A fan of texture and form, Cathy has used the themes she sees in glass making to lead retreats and workshops centred on the transforming power of surrendering to God’s care and craftsmanship

Participants are encouraged to bring a journal, simple craft equipment or outdoor wear for their self-led quiet space. Bring a Bible/Bible app if you can.

£39, including £2 for materials.
